WALKER, Walter Jr. "Hank" - Age 81, of Clio/Mt. Morris, died Saturday, December 17, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell will officiate. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Sunday, 12-8 PM Monday.. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Walter was born December 22, 1929 in Kennett, MO, the son of Walter and Jayne (Branch) Walker. He was married to Nora Evelene Yancy on November 23, 1946; she preceded him in death in 1993. Mr. Walker retired from General Motors in 1982. He was a musician in the Flint area, mainly playing string instruments. He played at nursing homes, churches, restaurants and weddings. In 2000 he was inducted in to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Surviving are: children, Joe (Mary) Walker, Larry (Karen) Walker, Cynthia (Harry) Fureigh, Vicky Walker; special friend and partner of 18 years, Helen Jones; step-children, Marilyn (Ron) Kaufmann, Denise (Timothy) Knorr, William (Nancy) Jones, Michael (Sharon) Jones, Lisa K. Jones; grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) Crandall, Jeanette (John) Keskes, Jennifer Walker, Heather Sabin, Andrea Cummings, Tiffany Walker, Melissa Walker (Julie Larsen), Christopher Price, Jessica Price, Dalton Price; 14 step-grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Franklin "Buster" Walker.
