Walter Henry SHOULTZ

April 11, 1923 — August 12, 2012

SHOULTZ, Walter Henry - Age 89, of Fenton, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, with Pastor Josh Gates officiating. Burial immediately following at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-8PM. A Masonic Memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Elf Khurafeh Shrine Transportation Fund. Mr. Shoultz grew up in North Branch, the son of Fred and Bessie (Muma) Shoultz. Upon graduation Walter enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in WWII. Walter was wounded in France and received a purple heart, after he recovered he returned to his tour of duty until the war ended. Walter retired in 1979 from Buick Motor Division after 33 years of service. Walter volunteered at Hurley Medial Center, was an active member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, and Elf Khurafeh. He drove for many years families to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Chicago, IL. Walter Volunteered many years at the Shrine Circus. He also was life member of the Fellowship Lodge #490 F.&A.M., Oasis, Flint and Fenton Shrine Clubs, Elf Khurafeh Shriners, Scottish Rite, Bay City Consistory, and the DAV. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Barbara (Haney); daughter, Margie and husband Jim Biggart; son, Fred and wife Brenda Shoultz; grandchildren, Christine and husband Dustin Murray, Patricia and Julianne Biggart, Robert and Daniel Shoultz; sister, Alice Stuart; sisters-in-law, Patricia Haney and Janet Haney; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Angeline Shoultz and brother, Arthur Shoultz.
