SHERSTON, Walter Charles  Age 95, of Gaylord, formerly of Fenton, died Sunday, July 03, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Thursday, July 7, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., (just south of Hill Rd.), Flint with Rev. Laura Kelsey officiating. Interment will follow in Gardner Cemetery, Tyrone Township. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Sherston was born April 13, 1910 in Pontiac, MI, the son of Charles and Alice Mae (Williams) Sherston. He married Myrtle Irene Cook in 1931 and she preceded him in death in 1991. He then married Lourinda. Mr. Sherston had worked as a farmer, a John Deere sales and repairman, and retired from General Motors in hospital maintenance. He was a member of U.A.W., Genesee Valley Tractor Club, enjoyed 1940s John Deere tractors and auctions and was a member of Tyrone Community Presbyterian Church. Surviving are: wife, Lourinda Sherston of Altoona, FL; two daughters, Elizabeth Bet Davis of Redwood City, CA, Margaret and husband, Kenneth Lockwood of Elmira; son, John Sherston and wife, Shirley of Edgewater, FL; nine grandchildren, Cyndie (Tony) Sazhen, Judy Newell, Dixie (Ken) Moshey, Laurie Krzeminski, Kathy Lockwood (Jim Taylor), Cheryl Bentley (Bruce Barron), Walter Lockwood, Julie (David) Bittner, John Jay (Lori) Sherston; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
