ROWE, Walter J. - Age 76, of Fenton, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, July 24 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton with Fr. David Harvey officiating. Interment at St. John Cemetery, where military honors will be performed under the auspices of Curtis Wolverton Post #3243 of Fenton. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Sunday, and 2-5 and 7-9 PM Monday at the funeral home. Walter was born November 16, 1930 in Flint, the son of Leslie and Anna (Bellow) Rowe. He graduated from Central High School, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1949. He retired from the Army National Guard as Sergeant. He married Caroline Karlichek on September 27, 1952 in Flint, and had lived in Fenton since 1974. Mr. Rowe graduated from University of Michigan in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by General Motors as a Skilled Tradesman, and was a member of UAW Local #598, where he served as District Committeeman for 4 terms. He held a Second Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do and was a Scuba Diving Instructor. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. Mr. Rowe is survived by his wife, Caroline; 4 children, Curtice and wife Sue Rowe of Mt. Morris, Cynthia and husband Anthony Brown of Fenton, Michael Rowe of Huntington, IN, Timothy and wife Mishell Rowe of Fenton; 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
