BAKER, Walter "Paul" -- Age 72 of Swartz Creek, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 while surrounded by his family at The Cottage of Davison. Funeral service will take place at 11AM Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Jim Nelson will officiate with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday October 27, 2014 from 12:00 noon until 8:00pm and Tuesday morning from 10AM until time of service. In Lieu of Flowers those desiring may direct memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Paul was born December 30, 1941 in Combs Kentucky, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Gladys (Vest) Baker. He married Joyce "Aileen" Walker in Hazard Kentucky on March 16, 1963 they were happily married for 51 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek. He was a life member of Masonic Lodge 498 of Swartz Creek. Paul retired from the Electrical Workers Union 948 in 2002. Paul was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family. He liked deer hunting, fishing, sitting on the front porch watching thunderstorms. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Joyce Aileen, his daughters Paula and husband David Clark, Rebecca and husband Mike Boldt. Grandchildren Tony (Christina), Laura, Michael, Jessica, Katie, Austin, and Ty. Two Great Granddaughters Eva and Olive. Also brothers, Ernest Jr., Bobby and wife Virgie, Charles, Jerry and wife Barbara and one sister Sandra. Also, his little buddy, the cat J.R. Preceded in death by his parents, two sister in laws and a brother in law. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Cottage of Davison for their loving care.
