Wallace Robinson

ROBINSON, Wallace L. - Age 83, passed away on May 21, 2014, surrounded by loving family at McLaren Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, May 27 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Louis Canaday officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 Sunday and 9AM until time of service on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. There will be no visitation on Monday, Memorial Day. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Boy Scouts (Genesee County) or Calvary Baptist Church of Gaines. Wallace was born May 25, 1930 in Flint, the son of Leland W. and Effie (Green) Robinson. He married Ruth Russell on August 24, 1951. He graduated from Fenton High School in 1948 and GMI in 1954. He worked at GM Chevrolet V-8 retiring after 38 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Gaines for over 15 years. He was involved with the Flint Junior Chamber of Commerce, Indian Guides, Boy Scouts for over 45 years, as well as the Buck Skinner Scouts. He was always volunteering to help others. In his lifetime Wally donated over 75 gallons of blood with the Red Cross. Wally is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth; children, Robin Rozario and Cle Da Costa, Robert (Patti) Robinson, Sheri Suckling, Sharlene (Mike) Durbin; grandchildren, Ajit Rozario (Lorraine), Ajay Rozario and Rachel Vandaele, Christopher and Patrick Robinson, Christian (Brooke) Durbin, Jonathan (Bonnie) Durbin, Katie (Suckling) Daniel; great-grandchildren, Lilly Rozario, Iris and Ethan Durbin, Hannah Daniel; sister, Pat (Gordon) Brooks. He was preceded in death by his parents and baby brother, Jimmy. The family would like to thank all the doctors and staff at McLaren Hospital, 6th and 8th floor South Wing CCU and Amanda and Chris for their compassionate care.
