Vivian J. Smith

SMITH, Vivian J. - age 89 of Fenton, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton. Pastor Jeff Jaggers officiating, Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton; and from 10 AM until the time of service Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Ministries.

Vivian was born May 23, 1935, in Oscoda, the daughter of James M. and Olive N. (LaVack) King. She was a 1953 graduate of Flint Tech High School. Vivian moved to Fenton in 1973. She was a Financial Secretary for over 20 years at Fenton and Kearsley Community Schools. Vivian was a longtime member of Fenton United Methodist Church. She was very active in United Methodist Women. Vivian was a past volunteer of FARR; Flint Junior Golf; and a scorekeeper at the Buick Open. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and watching golf and the Detroit Red Wings. She mostly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family.

She is survived by: her sons, Robert A. (Elaine) Naughton of Fenton and Kevin E. (Lisa) Naughton of Clarkston; sister, June Adams of Fenton; sister-in-law, Cheryl King of Fenton; grandchildren, Kristin (Garren) Griffith of Rochester Hills, Stephen (Tiffany) Naughton of Clarkston, Jonathan (Andrea) Naughton of Clarkston, Robert Naughton of Livingston County, Angela (Michael) Cupp of Fenton; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great- great- grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James D. King; sister, Mary E. Krzys; and brothers-in-law, Frank Adams and Richard Krzys. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
