LOBDELL, Vitaleen Lane Robinson  Nearly 98, quietly passed away on July 1, 2005, in her daughters home in Howell. Born Vitaleen Landry in Wisconsin, Lane spent a very happy childhood with her mother Amelia, father Adelard, and sister Florence. Lane married Howard Bob Robinson in Flint in 1928 and later moved to Swartz Creek. Together they raised five wonderful children: Paula (Jim) of Holiday, FL, Virginia Bobbie (Mick) of Jackson, James (Donna) of Lake City, Amelia Marie (Pete) of Howell, Kenneth (Ana) of Spokane, WA. After Bobs death, Lane found love again with Harold Lobdell and upon marrying him in 1968, she gained three step-children: Doris (Lee) of Grand Blanc, Charles (Ester) of Jackson, David (Marleen) of Simi Valley, CA. She and Harold spent 11 merry years together in Hale fishing, gardening, traveling and making many happy memories, especially for their grandchildren, before Harolds death in 1979. During her last few years, Lane divided her time between Jackson and Howell, where she was lovingly cared for by her daughters Bobbie and Marie. Lane leaves a legacy of quilting, canning, making jam, and the best rolls and cinnamon sticky buns weve ever tasted! Joining her children in celebrating Lanes life are her two nieces, Carol (Fred) and Mary (Pat), and nearly 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Services to honor Lane will be held 11 AM Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Sunday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM.
