WOOD, Virginia L. - Age 72, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Flint, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at her residence. Funeral service will be held 11AM Friday, May 16, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Chaplain Bob Coen officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 3-8PM Thursday and 10AM Friday until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Wood was born October 9, 1935 in Flint the daughter of Alex and Gladys (Stephens) Dennis. She married Thomas Wood on May 26, 1956 in Flint. She was a long time volunteer for the March of Dimes, having held the position as Secretary of the Board. Mrs. Wood was also a Master Gardener and skilled artist. Surviving are her husband of almost 52 years, Thomas Wood; 2 daughters, Kimberly (Daniel) Mancillas, Jr. of Swartz Creek, Kathleen Wood of Whitmore Lake; grandsons, Brighton Mancillas and Connor Mancillas both of Swartz Creek; 2 brothers, Douglas (Sally) Dennis, Paul (Vicki) Dennis.
