WEST, Virginia M. - Age 88, formerly of Flint and Gladwin, passed away on June 30, 2014 under the loving care of Hospice Advantage and the wonderful staff at Kra-Nur Manor in Burton. Virginia was born on January 24, 1926 in Flint to Emma Damon (Pepin). She attended and graduated from St. Michael's School in Flint. Virginia married Harry D. Lee, Jr. in June of 1943 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in March of 1945. She was employed at the Michigan National Bank in Flint in several capacities for 25 years before retiring in 1985. In 1968 she lost her beloved Harry but was wed again in 1970 to Alton West who preceded Virginia in death in February 1988. Virginia loved a good or bad game of golf whether in Gladwin, where once hit a Hole-In-One, or at her winter home in Winter Haven, FL. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing cards, or any kind of game, or just visiting. She always welcomed company and loved to laugh. Virginia is survived by three children, Gary (Debbie) Lee of Holly, Sandra (Rob) Gellings of Birmingham, AL, and Karen (Chris) Crockett of Marquette; six grandchildren and was GG (great grandma) to four. A memorial service and luncheon will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Walli's Restaurant, 1341 S. Center Rd, Burton. Fr. Phil Schmitter officiating.
