THOMAS, Virginia C., age 80 died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Thomas,  long time resident of the area was born in Birch Run on November 4, 1926 the daughter of Leo L. and Caroline (Schauppner) Schroth.  She attended and graduated from St. Michael High School.  Later she married Marvin F. Thomas in Flint in 1947.  She was a devoted member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, a member of the Woodmen of the World.  She enjoyed her flowers and watching the birds, and was an avid collector of Clown figurines, but most of all she had been a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her six children:  Cathy Thomas of Flushing, Kenneth Thomas of Flushing, Doug Thomas and wife Sandy of Flushing, Dan Thomas of Phoenix, Arizona, Andy Thomas of Grand Blanc and Marilyn Gilsdorf and husband Dennis of Fenton.  Also surviving are 4 grandchildren:  Nick and Matthew Thomas and Emily and Sarah Gilsdorf.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin in 1978 and a brother, Robert Schroth. The family will receive friends at the Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Rd. Swartz Creek from  3 to 7 P.M. Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 7 P.M. The Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 6 P.M.  On Monday, prayers will be recited at 10:15 A.M. at the funeral home and then processing to St. John Vianney Catholic Church for the funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M.  Rev. Fr.
