MOFFIT, Virginia Joyce - age 74, of Vernon, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Michigan Masonic Home in Alma, MI. Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Gerald Sever officiating. Interment will follow at Altona Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Michigan Masonic Home, Children's Miracle Network or Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mrs. Moffit was born May 5, 1934 in Lansing, the daughter of Charles R. and Margaret (Miller) Templeton and graduated from Wethersfield, CT. She married Laurel Jean Moffit on July 9, 1955 in Hartford, CT. Mrs. Moffit has resided in Vernon since 1967 and was a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church and the Byron Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are: husband, Laurel; three children, Timothy Ross Moffit and wife, Alayne, Bonnie Ann Moffit, Sean Allen Moffit; three grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Baker; step-sister, Janice Resser.
