KINIRY, Virginia L.,- Age 84, died Thursday, March 27, 2008. Â Funeral services will be held 1PM, Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Â The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Â Born in Missouri, February 8, 1924, Virginia grew up with her 5 siblings, Dale, Barbara, Gilbert, Junior and Katherine who is her only surviving sibling. As a young lady, she fell in love with the tall soldier her mother brought home from the train, Daniel Kiniry, and they were married July 14, 1945. Â Shortly thereafter they started their own family having two daughters, Linda Henry and Carol Kiniry. Â Danny and Virginia moved away from Danny's family in Vermont to Michigan when their daughters were still at a young age, for Danny to begin a career with General Motors while Virginia took to child rearing, not only her own kids, but her nieces, nephews and the neighborhood children. Â She always had an ease about her in being able to make a difference in the lives of the people she touched by lending a helping hand, kind advice or a shoulder to lean on. Â Throughout her life, she loved and adopted many people into her circle of family, including Tricia Metzger, who has been a part of the family for nearly 20 years. Â Somehow she never seemed to be short on home baked goods or a great story to tell to her granddaughters, Michele School and Heather Douglas, and she was always up for sharing her favorite memories or playin' a card game or two when family or friends came to visit. Â Virginia had the pleasure to welcome the joy of her first great grandchild Alex and was blessed with another great granddaughter, Ahna, three years later. Â During that time, she also welcomed Linda's oldest daughter, Melanie Thompson and her two children, Brad and Melissa, back into our lives. Â The far reach of her family truly extends further than we can mention in a short message since she touched so many lives. Â She leaves behind family and friends that will truly miss her and wonderful memories for all of us to share. Â Those desiring may make online tributes or condolences at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
