Virginia Godin

GODIN, Virginia Severena - Age 98, of Linden, died Monday, April 19, 2021.  A private Funeral Mass was held at St. Pius X Catholic Church.  Those desiring may make contributions to the North End Soup Kitchen, 745 E. Stewart Ave., Flint, MI 48505.

Virginia was born February 6, 1923 in Calumet, the daughter of Charles and Julia (Harry) Deiro.  She was a 1940 graduate of Calumet High School.  She married Alexander John Godin November 4, 1944 in Calumet and he preceded her in death February 11, 2018.  She had resided in Linden since 2018 coming from Swartz Creek.  Virginia was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church; she also was a member of C.C.C. Chapter 158, and the St. Agnes Altar Society.  She was a volunteer at the North End Soup Kitchen.  She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family.

Surviving are: her children, Marilyn Silance of Florida, Cheryl (Daniel) Warson of Lake City, and Kevin (Cynthia) Godin of Fenton; 8 grandchildren, Robert Silance, Jodi (Mark) Ruscetta, Wendi Shinn, Jonathan (Morgan) Godin, Jacquelyn (Timothy) Donahue, Meghan Godin, Mallory (Woodward) Beardsley, and Matthew Godin; 5 great grandchildren, Danny, Grayson, Jalan, Gabbi, and Madison; sister, Emma Beauchamp of Calumet; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Donahue; and brother, Carl Deiro.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
