Virginia Bradow

May 22, 1924 — February 28, 2016

BRADOW, Virginia Marie (Hetherton) - Age 91, of Grand Blanc, passed away peacefully at Medilodge of Grand Blanc on February 28, 2016. A memorial service will be held 2PM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Grand Blanc Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4255 McCandlish Rd., Grand Blanc. Family will greet friends 1PM Saturday until time of service at the church. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. She was born on May 28, 1924 to Lloyd and Marie (Rockwell) Hetherton in Flint, Michigan and was the oldest of six children. Virginia was a very gracious person who loved meeting new people and welcoming them into her home. She met her husband Jack while they were both in high school and they married in Grand Blanc on December 12, 1942. After World War II, they resided in Flint, eventually purchasing a home on the west side, and raising three children there. Their home became the center of most Hetherton and Bradow family functions for many years and their generosity toward their family is remembered fondly. Virginia was a lifelong member of the Jehovah's Witnesses and faithfully attended services every week. She worked for AC Spark Plug as an inspector for 25 years, retiring in 1986. She was a voracious reader, and loved sewing, crafts, crossword puzzles, news and golf programs, however, her greatest love was for her family. She is survived by her son Jack and James Parker, of Lansing, sons in law Arvil Johnson of Saint Paul, Virginia, and Ralph Bankston of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Virginia Jacks of Flint, Rebecca Caudill of Richmond, Virginia, Jason Johnson of Saint Paul, Virginia, Ralph (Sarah) Bankston of Lansing, Ryan (Aparna) Bankston of Ann Arbor; great grandchildren, Ashley Scarberry of Flint, Sarah Scarberry of Flint and Allison Caudill of Virginia and three great great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Seth Hetherton of Flushing, Duane (Diane) Hetherton of Swartz Creek; sister, Sharon (Anthony) Pasztor of Linden; many nieces, nephews and family friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her daughter Suzanne Bankston of Grand Blanc, daughter Goldie Jeanne Johnson of Saint Paul, Virginia, grandson Scott Johnson, also of Saint Paul, sister Edith Jones, of Grand Blanc, sister Alice Gray of Bradenton, Florida and several brothers and sisters in law. We all love you and will miss you, Mom. The family wishes to thank the staff of Medilodge of Grand Blanc and Heartland Hospice for the kindness they showed to Virginia and her family during these last few months. Online condolences may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
