Violet Waid

WAID, Violet M.- Age 88 went to the Lord on May 6, 2017. Violet was born February 23, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Nels and Bernice Ek. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Robert F. Waid; her son Nels Waid; her sisters, Janet Proctor, Thelma Haack; and her brother, Robert Ek. She leaves sons, Robert (Gwen) Kessler, Danny (Tonya) Waid and Calvin Waid; nine grandchildren; and 6 great- grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Marlene) Ek, James (Patty) Ek, Jack (Joanne) Alberts; sisters, Betty Gogo, Connie (Marshall) Benas; sister-in-law Barbara Ek. Violet was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Clarkston and was known for her great love and service to her Lord Jesus Christ. Funeral service will be held 3PM Friday, May 12 at First Baptist Church 5972 Paramus, Clarkston. Visitation will be held 1-3PM Friday at the church. There will be a dinner at the church following the service. There will also be a memorial service for Violet at 10:30AM Monday May 15 at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Rd. Holly.
