Viola E. Webb

WEBB, Viola E.  Age 83, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, June 3, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. J.D. Landis officiating. Cremation has taken place and a burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date at Plainfield Township Cemetery in Hale, MI. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Mrs. Webb was born September 28, 1921, the daughter of Speer and Martha (Craig) Strahan. She married David Webb on June 15, 1947 in Blissfield, MI and they have resided in Swartz Creek since. Mrs. Webb was a 1939 graduate of Blissfield High School. She served in the U.S. Marine Corp as a Control Tower Operator during World War II. Mrs. Webb had attended the International Business College in Ft. Wayne, IN, Adrian College, University of Michigan and Michigan State University. She had been the Treasurer for the City of Swartz Creek for several years. Mrs. Webb enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking. Surviving are: husband, David of Swartz Creek; five children, Kathryn and husband, Ben Muniz of TN, David Jr. and wife, Betsy of Manistee, Tom and wife, Sandy of Troy, Nancy Fournier of Clarkston, Dan and wife, Kay of Rockford; 13 grandchildren, Ben, Amanda, Sarah, Amy, Kurt, Christine, Jim, Tom Jr., Scott, Laura, Ashley, Emily and Jennifer; many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Leila Kidman and Amy Shunk; three brothers, Charles, William and John Strahan; son-in-law, David Fournier; great-granddaughter, Shayna Spears.
