Viola Flowers

Flowers, Viola Mae Gibson - Age 93, of Swartz Creek, died April 25, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday April 28 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Viola was born July 17, 1923 in Yuma, Henderson County, TN the daughter of John William Columbus Gibson and Mary Ila Haywood Gibson. Viola was an extraordinary seamstress and quilter. Surviving are: three daughters Dorthy M. Mitchell, Wilma C. (Simon) Riggs, Annita F (Allen K.) Linn; son-in-law Alvin Baker; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Marie Anglin; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary V. Moore, Margie L. Gibson, Janie L. Gibson; brother, J.W. Gibson; daughter Peggy A. Baker; son-in-law, Joe L. Mitchell. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
