Viola Cliber

CLIBER, Viola L. - Age 83, of Flint, went home with her heavenly father on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Hoyt Nursing Home. Viola was born in Wyandotte, OK, on September 16, 1934 the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel (McClure) McCullough. As an infant Viola and her family moved to Michigan where she has been a resident all her life. She was educated in the Clio area schools. Viola married Elmer H Cliber on June 9th, 1956. She was employed at AC Spark Plug for several years and later was a homemaker. Viola was an active member of Riverside Tabernacle Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in various ministries including The Storehouse food distribution program. Survivors include her children, Debbie (Peter) Murtaugh of WI, Diane (Dennis) McMullen of OH, Denise (David) Donaldson of Saginaw, David (April) Cliber of Davison; Viola is also survived by Elmer Cliber of PA, as well as her grandchildren, Gabriel, Caitlin, Ian, Shane (Lauren), Shauna, Stephanie (Jarrett), Walker, Sydney, Alyssa and Aaron; great grandchildren, Marcus and Charlotte Rose; sisters, Edna (Jay) West of OK, Virginia Holbin of FL, Peggy Collins of FL; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Lovelle Schlosser, Lorraine Lavine and Billie VanZandt. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Riverside Tabernacle, 429 Nb Chavez Dr., Flint. Pastor Tom Mattiuzzo officiating with a luncheon immediately following. In lieu of flowers memorials to Riverside Tabernacle would be appreciated. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hoyt Nursing Home for their outstanding care.
