Vinel Chapman

Vinel "Jay" Chapman, age 87, of Mt. Morris, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022. The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 2:00PM at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road in Grand Blanc. Vinel was born on February 14, 1935, in Mamou, Louisiana to the late John (Mazie) Chapman. He was employed at General Motors for over 30 years and retired in 2000. For the past 18 years Vinel and Kathleen "Kathy" were each other's sweethearts; and on August 2, 2020, they got married in Flushing. Vinel was a long-time member to the Mt. Morris Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and keeping an immaculate yard. Vinel will forever be remembered as being a "people person".

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his three children, Mellissa (Ed Durant) Chapman, Jeanette Cook and Michael (Debbie) Chapman; two grandchildren, Jason Chapman and Shannon Hovath. Vinel is further survived by other family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 7 of his siblings.
