Vesta Jones

JONES, Vesta Louise- Age 74, of Brown City, MI, left us Tuesday, November 10, 2015 with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, November 16, 2015 at Zion United Methodist Church, 14952 Imlay City Rd., Capac, Michigan. Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills, Michigan. Funeral arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family c/o Sharp Funeral Homes. Vesta was born in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of the late Francis and Mildred Marie (Ireland) Thompson. She married Richard Dean Jones on March 17, 1956 in Pontiac. Vesta enjoyed crocheting blankets, baking, canning, fishing and loved watching her grandchildren playing sports and watching the Detroit Tigers. Surviving are: husband, Richard D. Jones; 8 children, Penny L. (David) Miller, Cynthia A. (James) Miller, Bonnie J. (Ron) Zortman, Danny C. (Denise) Jones, Ronnie D. (Barb) Jones, Bryan L. (Heather) Jones, Ricky J. (Nicole) Jones, Karen S. (Jason) Woods; 24 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; brother Cecil Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her 2 sons, John D. and Steven J. Jones; 2 brothers Robert and Grant Thompson and a sister Vivian Appling. All that we are or ever hoped to be, we owe to our mother and grandmother.
