Verona Elizabeth SWYRTEK

SWYRTEK, Verona Elizabeth "Vicki" - age 74, of Flint, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, July 26, 2010 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint with Rev. Fr. Robert Copeland officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Saturday and Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A vigil service will be held 3 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held 10 AM until the time of service Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Vicki was born July 25, 1935 in the Delray area of Detroit. She retired from AC in 1985 as a Floor Inspector. Vicki enjoyed traveling, casinos, cooking her pork roast and pork chops, reading and watching birds. She loved animals especially her dog, Andy who was her faithful companion to the end. She also enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. Surviving are: husband of 28 years, Joseph T. Swyrtek, Jr.; sons, Joseph T. Swyrtek III and wife, Jeffery Swyrtek and wife and children. She is also survived by a step-daughter, step-sons; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
