Vernon -Roy- Leroy Atkinson

ATKINSON, Vernon Leroy Roy  age 83, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Green wood Cemetery, Vernon. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility. Roy was born December 24, 1921 in Portland, IN, the son of Orville and Opal (Thrurer) Atkinson. He was employed with the family business, Atkinson Construction for many years and enjoyed fishing. Roy is survived by: sister, Betty Talbot of Durand; two brothers, Bill and wife, Esther of Lennon, Clyde and wife, Betty of Morrice; many nieces and nephews also survive.
