Verna M. Ketchum

KETCHUM, Verna M., age 88, of Holly/Fenton area, died Thursday February 1, 2007 at Grand Blanc Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3PM Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 15010 N. Holly Rd., Holly. Pastor M. Jean Love officiating. The family will receive friends from 2PM Sunday until the time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Memorial Fund. Verna was born January 23, 1919 in Traverse City, the daughter of Willard and Edith Mary (Crandall) Wilhelm. She married Waverly Ketchum in Traverse City on January 23, 1949, and he preceded her in death July of 1991. Verna had lived in the Holly/Fenton area for 45 years, coming from Traverse City. She was the owner/operator of Verna's Beauty Salon in Dibbleville for 22 years and Verna's Beauty Salon in Traverse City. She was a past member of Linden United Methodist Church, and most recently Calvary United Methodist Church, Holly. Verna enjoyed her family, church, volunteer work, and going to Holly Senior Center. Surviving are her daughter, Ellen Pease (Ronald) of Fenton; son, Charles P. Ketchum (Cheryl Ann) of Fenton; 3 grandsons,  Dave Pease (Jamie) of Linden, Randy Pease (Kelly) of Kawkawlin, Charles J. Ketchum of Fenton; 2 granddaughters, Sharon Armbruster (Peter) of Fenton, Maria Ketchum of Flint; 7 great-grandchildren, Randi, Ricki, Alexandra, Megan, Zachary, Alec and Riley. The family extends many thanks to the staff of Grand Blanc Rehab and Nursing Center and the staff of Young at Heart Assisted Living.
