BURNHAM, Verlaine P. "Swedish Ivy" - age 81, of Swartz Creek died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility. Services will be held 1 PM Monday, April 19, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Chaplain Goodman Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Owosso. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Saturday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Suncrest Medical Care Facility, Brian's House Hospice or American Cancer Society. Mrs. Burnham was born February 15, 1929 in Albert Lea, MN, the daughter of Glenn C. Lee and Annie M. (Bylund) Lee. She was a graduate of Flushing High School and married Colland W. Burnham on May 1, 1948. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1998. She was employed by the Durand I.G.A for 15 years as Produce Manager retiring in 1980. Mrs. Burnham was a former member of Railroad City C.B. Club and A.A.R.P. Surviving are: three sons; Galland Burnham of North Branch, Leland (Peg) Burnham of Swartz Creek and Allen (Jennie) Burnham of Kingman, AZ; daughter, Colleen (Carl) Cole of Owosso; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Lee of Red Feather Lakes, CO, Glennda (Richard) Nelson of Anita, IA, Mary (Dave) Lewis of North Liberty, IA; sister-in-law, Vicki Lee of Prudenville, MI. She was also preceded in death by: her parents and brother, Robert Lee. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
