Vera Jansson

JANSSON, Vera Josephine- age 91, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Bessemer, passed away on May 12, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, May 16 at Linden Presbyterian Church, 119 W. Broad Street, Linden, Pastor Seth Normington officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service. Interment following at Fairview Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Argentine Care Center Activities Fund, 9051 Silver Lake Road Linden or Linden Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Jansson was born on August 24, 1922 in Ironwood, the daughter of Andrew and Johanna (Purola) Niemi. She married Rurik Jansson on April 3, 1947 and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1998. Vera worked as an LPN for the VA Hospital in Iron Mountain and also worked at Argentine Care Center where she received multiple awards for outstanding service at both facilities. Vera was a member of Linden Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed baking and caring for friends and family. "Ultimate Care Giver." Vera is survived by children, Cheryl Ann (John) Sharpe, Ronald Jansson, Roselyn (Jim) Olson, Pamela (Dan) Glisson; sister, Julianna Abramson; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by parents; son-in-law, Jerry Peterson; grandson, Steven Olson; 5 brothers and 7 sisters.
