Velma G. Rogers

ROGERS, Velma G. -- Age 89, of Clio, died July 6, 2006 at Brians House Hospice. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, Rev. Audrey Charleton officiating. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 PM Friday, and 1 PM until the time of the funeral Saturday. Velma was born October 2, 1916 in Gladwin the daughter of John and Bertha (Babcock) Doan. She was married to Archie D. Rogers on January 12, 1981 in Greenwood, Indiana. She was an Executive Secretary for the Board of Education with the State of Michigan retiring in 1981 with 40 years of service. She took her commitment to her job very serious and loved her work. Mrs. Rogers is survived by: husband Archie Rogers; nieces and nephews; grand nieces and grand nephews; brother Leonard Doan of Clare. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
