Harris, Velma Joyce - Age 91, of Lake City formerly of Lake Fenton, died June 4, 2024. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 7, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Mr. Neil May officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Velma was born December 11, 1932 in Wisner Township, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Sharp) Prime. Velma's family owned Prime Grocery Store in Flint where she grew up and helped in the store as a young lady. She married Harold J. Harris in Flint on February 4, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2011. After Harold retired they moved and later built and operated Super Kleen Laundromat in Lake City where Velma continued to work until she was 86 years old. Velma was a member of the Lake City Christian Reformed Church. She volunteered at Friend's Ministry. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved helping others. She was a very clean and tidy person whether it was her home, business or detailing her car. Surviving are: children, Diana McMillan and Larry (Lori) Harris; daughter-in-law, Brenda Harris; grandchildren, Kim (Bill) Frescura, David Sutton, and Sheena Harris; 7 great- grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Faith May.
