Tyrus Gerych Jr.

GERYCH, A. Tyrus Jr - age 77, of Fenton formerly of Brighton, died Saturday, June 6, 2015. Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM Wednesday, June 17 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N.Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. Dwight Ezop celebrant. Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of Mass. Luncheon to follow at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center, 5768 E. Grand River Ave. Howell. Arrangements under the direction of Sharp Funeral Homes 1000 Silver Lake Road Fenton. Tyrus was born on January 25, 1938 the son of Tyrus Gerych Sr. and Clarice (Martin) Gerych in Detroit, MI. Tyrus married Shirley A. Renaud in Detroit, MI on June 6, 1959. Together they had two children, Sherry and Tyrus III. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and retired from his position as a store manager at K-Mart in 1997. He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton, MI. He enjoyed spending his time traveling and visiting casinos. Tyrus is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter Sherry Marion of Fenton, son Tyrus A. Gerych III of Brighton; four beloved grandchildren Alex, Taylor, Madison, and Jessica, one baby great-granddaughter due in October; one great-grandchild, Elliot; and three brothers, Fred, Ken, and Steve Gerych.
