WALDRON II, Tom V., age 67 of Linden, died Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Caretel of Linden. Tom was born in Flint on July 6, 1942 the son of Tom V. and Margaret M. (Hansen) Waldron and he has been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a graduate of Flint Southwestern High School. Tom was a police officer with the Flint City Police Department for 27 years, retiring in 1992. He then worked for Fenton Township as an ordinance officer and also worked in security for Baker College. Tom enjoyed the out doors, hunting, fishing and boating. He was an avid sports fan and a car enthusiast, enjoying classic and specialty cars. Surviving are his daughter, Leslie Saur and husband Andrew of Chicago, his son, Tom Waldron III of Chicago, and a grandson, Alexander Saur. Further survivors include his mother, Margaret M. Waldron of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, longtime friend and companion, Janice Dimock of Linden and 2 sisters; Jan Waldron-Pringle and husband John and Susan Fleming and husband Philip and several nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Tom's life will take place Friday, October 30, 2009 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Fenton Twp. Hall, 12060 Mantawauka Drive, Fenton. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept memorial donations in care of Sharp Funeral Homes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to the Fraternal Order of Police, Flint Chapter of which Tom was a member.
