Tobin (Toby) Matthew Looman, age 42 of South Lyon, MI, formerly of Fenton, MI passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family that he loved so fiercely. If you knew Toby, you had the privilege of an extraordinary friendship. He had a phenomenal sense of humor and an unending capacity to love. Chef Toby found his calling in the culinary arts. He was the corporate executive chef with both Independence Village and StoryPoint senior living campuses, where he worked with an incredible team. He loved his life there and believed in a Constant Pursuit of Better. He expected a lot of others, and in turn gave all of himself. He leaves behind his beloved mother, Jackie (Dave) Morse, loving sister and brother in law, Tiffany and Scott Okopien, adored nephews Alex, Nick and Jackson Okopien, his dear Unca Bon Smilgian, treasured cousins Aaron and Sue Ebling, Bare and Alicia Baldwin and many family members and friends, all of whom will miss him deeply. The family would especially like to thank lifelong friend Dave Menzies, as well as Chefs Tim, Phil and Abby for their incredible support. Services will be held at Crystal Gardens in Howell on Friday, February 2nd, from 12pm-3pm. Toby will be reunited with his dad, Charles Looman, Jr. at Oakwood Cemetery.
