Wiinamaki, Thomas "Tom" Charles - Age 83, of Flint, Formerly of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday July 1, 2020. Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday July 8 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 8497 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Bart Muller officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flushing. Visitation will be held 12PM until time of service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Thomas was born August 21, 1936 in Mohawk, Michigan, the son of the late Wilho and Tyne Marie (Mattila) Wiinamaki. He married Nancy Maki in Elo Michigan on June 9, 1956. Tom was a car hauler for 33 years, retiring from Teamsters Local 299. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church for 53 years. Tom enjoyed singing, playing guitar and Boating. He loved spending time with his family. Tom also loved to golf. When he was young he was a caddy in the U.P. at the well known golf clubs. In his youth Tom was a singer at barn dances in the U. P. Surviving are: wife of 64 years, Nancy Wiinamaki of Flint; children, Shari (Dennis) Sweeney of Swartz Creek, Lori (David) Mertz of Wayland, Jeffrey Wiinamaki of Flint; grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan,Jacob, Jason, Danielle, Desirae, Jessica, Jeni, Kristi, Devin; 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Craig Wiinamaki, Randall Wiinamaki, Barry Wiinamaki and brother, Garfield "Mort" Wiinamaki. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
