WALIMAKI, Thomas Lee - age 61, of Flint, formerly of Fenton, died, Friday, February 7, 2020. Sharing of memories will take place 6 PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd, Fenton. Visitation will take place 4 PM until the time of the service Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Thomas was born on December 13, 1958 in Lansing the son of Elmer and Donna (Smith) Walimaki. He graduated from Fenton High School, class of 1978. Thomas worked for 15 years for Medigas transporting oxygen to medical facilities. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family. Thomas was an avid sports fan watching the Detroit Tigers and Michigan State University.
He is survived by his son, Ben McIntosh; siblings, Michael (Sharon) Walimaki, Jean (Douglas) Brisbo, David Walimaki, Joan (Rick) VanSickle, Jane Lefler and Philip "Flip" (Erin) Walimaki; longtime friend, Eugene Stevens; and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Patrick Walimaki and sister-in-law, Susan Walimaki.
