Thomas Inglis TAGG, Jr.

June 20, 1929 — September 17, 2009

TAGG, Jr, Thomas Inglis - Age 80, died Thursday, September 17, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Life Fellowship Chapel, 2361 N. Irish Road, Davison, with Pastor Jim Olah officiating. Interment will take place Sunday, November 15, 2009 in Windsor Grove Cemetery, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where he will join his mother and aunt and uncle, Jean and Kirk Cox. Those desiring may make contributions to the Big Sisters or Big Brothers. Mr. Tagg was born June 20, 1929 in Dearborn, the son of Thomas I. Tagg, Sr. and Norma Jean (Burt) Brie. He joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 13. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam serving in the U.S. Navy, retired after 20 years of service. He then retired from GM Fisher Body I in 1987. He also had an upholstery business. Mr. Tagg was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Big Brothers Organization. He also enjoyed playing Santa Claus, watching the birds, gardening, cards, boating, growing monster pumpkins, camping and winter camping. Surviving are: 6 children, Thomas (Deloris) Tagg III of Linden, Edward Tagg of Jeffersonville, IN, Paul Tagg, Burt Tagg of Panorama City, CA, Suzanne Tagg of Mt. Morris and Wayne (Christine) Tagg of Mt. Morris; 2 step children, Cheryl Fogal and Virgil Fogal; grandchildren, Karen, Steven, Brandi, Alex (Mary), John, Benjamin, Samuel, Jessica and Karla; special cousin, Patrick (Cheryl) Norris of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; special friend, Ruth Scott; special daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Tagg, Sr and Norma Jean Brie; grandson, Thomas Tagg IV; brother, Robert Tagg. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Hurley Medical Center CCU and ICU, McLaren Select Specialty Hospital and McLaren ICU.
