Thomas Snipes Jr.  “Tom” -- Age 79, of Montrose, reunited with his wife of 57 years Patricia Snipes peacefully surrounded by family at home on March 10, 2023.

Funeral services will be held 12 PM Tuesday March 14 at the North End Baptist Church, 7360 Clio Road, Mt. Morris. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday March 13 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd.,Swartz Creek; and 11 AM until the time of the funeral at the church on Tuesday March 14.

Thomas was born on April 6th 1943 to Thomas Berry Snipes Sr. and Minnie (Evans) in Marion South Carolina.

Tom is survived by his only remaining sister Betty Bullock. He was the father of two daughters Tanya Snipes (Willie Coon) and Tabitha Snipes-Crossnoe (Ron Hyde). Thomas was the grandfather of five, Tiffany Sorensen (Tim), Paul Waldrop (Jennifer), Kristin Waldrop (Mike Hill), Autumn Alvarez (Nicholas), and Buc Crossnoe. Tom was largely involved in his great grandchildren’s lives. He is survived by great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Brooke’lynn, Case, Maddox, Carter, Genevieve, Brynlei and Maeleigh.

Tom enjoyed tinkering in his garage and working on tractors when he wasn’t tending to his yard. Tom could make anything grow and fix almost anything. He was a Jack of all trades. Tom traveled the US through work as a trucker for many years. In post retirement he continued trips to Alabama to see his sister (Betty and nephew Ron)  and grandchildren in South Carolina.

Tom was known for being a straighter shooter. He was loyal to those loyal to him. Although he was rough around the edges, he was always willing to go the extra mile to help his family and friends. Tom, or grandpa as his grand babies called him, was seen as a big teddy bear. For this who knew him his favorite word was bodacious.

Special thanks to Toms closest friends: Ron who visited regularly and enjoyed morning coffee, Bob who forever helped Tom restore tractors of all ages and kinds, “The boys on Clio Road” (as grandpa called them) for embracing him as one of their own. Lastly, but not least Aunt Jean and Aunt Neda for feeding him endless cake.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Minnie Snipes; siblings; Jerry, Ruth, Cat, Jean; and wife Patricia Snipes.

In true Tom fashion ... signing off … YABA DABBA DOO.
