Thomas James Smythe, age 58, died at his residence on August 16th after battling ALS . A Memorial Service will be held 12noon, Saturday September 24 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be 10 AM until the time of service. Tom, son of Jud and Pat (Kiser) Smythe of Fenton was born on February 11, 1964. Tom graduated from Fenton High School in 1983 and Northwood University in 1987. Tom worked for Woodhaven Senior Community in Flint and VG’s in Fenton. His smile and helpful personality were loved by the Seniors at Woodhaven and the customers at VG’s. Tom is survived by his wife Toni, his parents, sister Kelly (Steve) Nunn, nephews Brad and Tyler (Lauren Shields) Nunn, step-children Bobby (Katie) Handel, Nicole (Jeff) Burow, grandchildren Cayden, Caylee, Kennadie, Allen and Danny, and aunts, uncles and cousins. Tom adored his grandchildren, he treasured the times that they shared together. His smile, kind heart and laugh will be greatly missed.
