Thomas Sawyer

SAWYER, Thomas Phillip - Age 73, of Flint, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Chaplain Hank Messing officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Thomas Phillip Sawyer Memorial Fund. Mr. Sawyer was born November 10, 1935 in Owosso, the son of Leo Henry and Nellie (Smalec) Sawyer. He was a graduate of St. Paul Catholic High School, Owosso. He married Vickie Cox June 23, 1982. Mr. Sawyer had resided in Flint for the past 24 years, coming from Davison. He had been employed by Kessel and Kroger grocery stores. Surviving are: wife, Vickie; 7 children, Kelly, John, Tommy, Shannon, Rhonda, Angela and Tyler; 9 grandchildren; mother, Nell Walters; brother, Michael Sawyer.
