Thomas Pounds

Pounds, Thomas S. - Age 92, of Flint, formerly of Tawas, died July 19, 2018. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, July 21 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint, Chaplain Goodman Cox officiating. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Friday, and 12-1 PM Saturday. Private interment at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Thomas was born December 21, 1925 in Saginaw the son of Ellsworth and Lillian (Sarasin) Pounds. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He married Virginia Rock March 8, 1948. He worked for the City of Flint Fire Department as a fireman and then electrical supervisor before retiring in 1976. Thomas was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed traveling overseas and boating in the Great Lakes. Thomas is survived by his wife of 70 years, Virginia; 3 sons, Robert (Debbie) Pounds of Vassar, David (Kathy) Pounds of Flint Township, Stewart (Jill) Pounds of Flint Township; 4 grandchildren, Thomas (Tanya) Pounds, Brian Pounds, Crystal Guimaraes, Nicholas (Lindsey) Pounds; 4 great-grandchildren.
