Mr. Thomas H. Mott, age 78, of Burton, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, following a lengthy illness. Private graveside services were at Flint Memorial Park, 9506 N. Dort Highway, Mount Morris. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. Tom was born September 18, 1942 in Flint, MI the son of the late Neuman H. and Wanda E. (Stewart) Mott. Tom graduated from Flint Central High School and then attended Mott Community College and Ferris State College. He married Sherry (Hoffman) Mott in May of 1965, and they were happily married for 27 years. Tom loved his horses, raising them, riding them and racing them. He lived on their farm in Metamora for many years. Tom also loved playing cards twice a week every month with his friends, including Jeff Himelhoch, Dennis Winston, Russ Deutsch, Ken Kander, Carl Riseman, Shelley Wolin, Eric Friedman, Mitch Weiss, Tedd Bean and Mel Flamenbaum. Tom had a great heart, loved children, and had a great sense of humor. He was an avid fan of University of Michigan sports teams.
Tom is survived by his brother, Chuck (Patty) Mott of Arkansas; sister, Sue Shields of Burton; wife, Anita Davis; many nieces and nephews, including Elaine (Bruce) Jenkins, Chrissy (David) Cheerchell, Callie (Mike) Davidson & Meckail & Jill Mott; Bob (Shannon) Rynca, and Patrick (Jenny) Rynca. Tom also had 17 grand nieces and nephews and 13 great-grand nieces and nephews. Tom was also survived by many great friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Neuman and Wanda Mott; wife, Sherry Mott; his nephew, Michael Rynca; and brother-in-law, Frank Shields.
