Thomas Motes

MOTES, Thomas Junior - Age 74 of Lennon, died Monday, July 31, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, August 4, 2017 at The Rock Church, 11400 Linden Road, Fenton. Pastor Wes Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Tree Cemetery, Corunna. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden. Thomas was born May 3, 1943 in Hamerburg Co., Arkansas, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Elizabeth (Stickel) Motes. He retired from General Motors after 37 years of service. Thomas was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. He loved to talking to people and going on roadtrips. He was a wonderful provider for his family. Thomas is survived by his children, Scott Douglas Motes, Stephen Verdell Motes, Robin Michelle (Troy) Miller, Derek Thomas Motes; grandchildren, Tara Leigh O'Neil, Tyler Douglas Motes, Jacob Lloyd Miller, James Jefferson Miller, Lily Rae Miller; mother, Elizabeth; siblings, Janice, Jane, George, Donald, Allen and Larry; longtime companion, Loraine Waggoner; many extended family members and friends.
