McGRATH, Thomas Alan, Sr. - Age 45, of Burton, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-9 PM and Wednesday from 1-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Thomas A. McGrath Memorial Fund. Thomas was born October 22, 1963 in Flint, the son of Thomas Keith and Alabee (Sample) McGrath. Thomas had resided in the Flint area his entire life. He married Brenda L. Kirkpatrick July 4, 2001 in Otisville. He was employed by Uni-Solar (United Solar Ovenic) for the past 4 years as a production associate. Surviving are: wife, Brenda; 5 children, Troy Anthony Gunn of Montrose, Sherri McGrath of Burton, Tacara Sherington and husband Allen of Flint, Thomas A. McGrath, Jr. of Flint, McKayla McGrath of Burton; 2 step sons, Ryan Kilpatrick and wife April of Burton and Ali Abdalla of Burton; 2 grandchildren, Alaina Sherington and Quinn Kilpatrick; Thomas, Jr. and Tacara's mother, Deborah Clark of Flint; 7 brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews.
