Thomas Lajewski

LAJEWSKI, Thomas Andrew - age 90, of Flushing, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 in Owosso. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 301 N. Cherry St., Flushing with Fr. Anthony Brooks celebrant. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 5-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a scripture service will be held at 7 PM Wednesday evening. Visitation will also be held 10 AM - 11 AM Thursday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Mr. Lajewski was born August 18, 1927 in Clare, the son of Bronislaw and Antonette (Kruczwski) Lajewski. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving during World War II. Mr. Lajewski married Sophie Solarz on April 12, 1947 and she preceded him in death on December 14, 2015. He retired from the City of Flint Fire Department as a Battalion Chief in 1979 after 28 years on the Department. Surviving are: daughter Lorraine (Dennis) Zimmer of Linden; son, Steven (Robyn) Lajewski of Durand; grandchildren, Melanie (Matt) Ralbusky, Kevin(Mary) Zimmer, Brian (Kim) Lajewski, Jacqueline (David) Forrest; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: his parents; son, Thomas, Jr.; six brothers, Frank, Walter, Joseph, Anthony, John, and Edward; and sister, Mary.
