Thomas Jones

Thomas C. Jones, 73, of Howell, Michigan passed away on Thursday Dec 10, 2020 at U of M Hospital. He leaves behind his wife Beth, their son Christopher, and three sisters Marj Russell, Nancy Gutierrez and Catherine Smith.

Tom was born in Detroit to Alice and Arthur Jones.  He grew up with his sisters, and a close group of lifelong friends. He attended University of Michigan, graduating with an Engineering degree.  Tom interned at Chrysler in college and moved to Ford Motor Company after graduation. His passion for trucks made him a leader in the Off-Road racing division, and he retired as an engineering executive in 2007.

Tom was an avid sailor on his beloved Kona, a scuba diver, a passion he shared with Beth, and a motorcyclist, relishing long trips on his Harley.  He was even a partner in a hot air balloon company. He and his family enjoyed many adventures, including living in England for 3 years. Tom was always a farmer at heart, he and Beth recently settled in Howell on a 10- acre farm, complete with a pole barn, tractor, a large garden, and his beloved 1956 Ford F250.

In lieu of funeral services, Beth and Chris will be hosting a celebration of Tom’s life next summer at the farm.
