Thomas Hyde

HYDE, Thomas Kenneth -- Age 72, of Flint Township, loving husband, father, and Papa, died August 21, 2016. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, August 24 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G3139 Hogarth, Flint. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Visitation will be held 10 AM until time of mass at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions in Thomas' name to the American Red Cross. Thomas was born March 25, 1944 in Flint the son of the late Jerry A. and Elizabeth (Burkhardt) Hyde. He graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1962. He married Mary O'Shaughnessy July 19, 1969 in Flint. Thomas retired from GM V-8 Engine Powertrain with 36 years of service. He was a member of St Pius X Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mary; 2 daughters, Bridget (John) McCormick of Clarkston, Courtney Hyde of Los Angeles, CA; 3 grandsons, Thomas, Matthew, and Benjamin McCormick; sister, Shirley Tolbert; sister-in-law, Georgianna (John) Olay; 2 brothers-in-law, John (JoElla) Shaughnessy, and Thomas (Roberta) O'Shaughnessy; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews; life-long friends, Vernon DuPraw and Dwain Henson.
