Thomas Holmquist

HOLMQUIST, Thomas Henry - age 76, of Swartz Creek, died June 13, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd, Swartz Creek, MI 48473 with Rev. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Visitation will also be held 10 AM -11 AM Tuesday at the church. Tom was born April 28, 1946 in Detroit, the son of Thomas Henry and Barbara (McKenzie) Holmquist. He married Joanne Loose in 1972 and she preceded him in death in 2020. Tom started working at Fisher Body and retired from General Motors. He was a proud member of the National Hot Rod Association and was instrumental in the development of Greater Flint Golden Glove Boxing and Flint Boxing Commission. Tom was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He enjoyed scuba diving, dirt bikes and bird watching. Surviving are: sons, Marty (Brenda) Holmquist and Mickey (Kelly) Holmquist; 3rd son, Nick (Jenny) Paul; beloved grandchildren, Thomas, Leif, Garrett, and Addison; his buddy and grand-dog, Nitro; brother, Jim (Deborah) Holmquist.
