Thomas Czerniak, Sr.

CZERNIAK, Thomas Francis, Sr. - 84, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at his home. Thomas was born October 2, 1936 in Cedar MI the son of Florian and Regina (Galla) Czerniak. On November 12, 1960 at Holy Rosary Church, he married his loving wife of sixty years, Emily (VanCura) Czerniak, who survives. Thomas was devoted to his family. He was a devout Catholic and trusted God. He led by example with love, kindness, compassion, patience and he was always helping others in any way he could. Thomas enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, playing euchre, keeping his yard beautiful, and his favorite past time… polka dancing. He retired from GM in 1991 and spent his retirement years living life to the fullest with his wife and family, spending much time at their vacation home in Cedar. Thomas is survived by his wife, Emily, his children; Julie Czerniak, Michelle Czerniak, Kimberly (David) Phillips, Jennifer (David) Rose, Thomas (Leesha) Czerniak Jr; his siblings, Martha Schaub, Louise Nemeskal, Florian Czerniak Jr.; his grandchildren, Ashley, Zachariah, John, Nathanial, Benjamin, Nicholas, Emily, Natalie and his great grandchildren Nova and Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Claude (Laura) Czerniak, Marie (Edward) Skeba, Agnes Mikowski, Clara Whitman, Joseph (Martha) Czerniak and infant sister, Lillian Czerniak. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 with the Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday, March 19, 2021 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant.
