Thomas Bernard CONKLIN

CONKLIN, Thomas Bernard - age 64, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Funeral mass celebrated 11 AM Monday, October 3, 2011 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek with Fr. Dan Kogut celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Gaines. Visitation will be held 2-9 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A vigil service will be held at 7 PM Sunday evening. Visitation will also be held 10 AM until the time of service Monday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Swartz Creek Athletic Boosters. Tom was born December 9, 1946 in Durand, the son of John and Mary Elizabeth (Martin) Conklin. He married Jennifer Minkler on November 12, 1976 and has lived on the family farm in Swartz Creek his whole life. Tom was employed by John Hancock for over 40 years. He had a great sense of humor and was a family man and a loyal friend. Tom enjoyed spending time on his farm with his tractor and loved his girls and grandkids. Surviving are: wife, Jennifer; two daughters, Sarah and husband, Dan Fondren of Swartz Creek, Elaina Conklin and fiance, Al Zerka; two grandchildren, Paige and Danny; brother, Mark Conklin and wife, Nancy of Marquette; many other relatives and dear friends. His uncle, Barney, preceded him in death. Tom was loved by the whole community and will be sadly missed by all.
