Thomas Brewer

BREWER, Thomas Maydell-- Age 84, of Swartz Creek, died November 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday December 2 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, Pastor Hal Phillips and Pastor Don Phillips officiating. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Tuesday, and 10 AM until time of service Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Family. Thomas was born November 25, 1931 in Detroit the son of Cecil Maydell and Mary Emma (Anslow) Brewer. He resided in Flint most of his life, graduating from Flint Central High School in 1950. Thomas was a Veteran of the U.S Army serving in Korea. He married Thalia Jean Hart in1955 in Flint she preceded him in death on March 9, 2005. He worked for Consumers Power as a Gas Serviceman retiring in 1989 with 38 years of service. He was a member of the South Mundy United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Fenton VFW, and the Utilities Workers of America #119, life member of the NRA, and a member of the Flushing Rifle and Pistol Club. He was a avid sportsman, he loved traveling, hunting, fishing, and photography. He is survived by 4 children, Tina ( Tim) Groat of Swartz Creek, Terry (Larry) Whitaker, of Mt Morris, Tom (Phoebe) Brewer of New Jersey, Trudy Grindstaff of Flint; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Mary Anne (Burt) Breece of Davison; many nieces and nephews. The family extends a big thank you to the Staff of Lacey's of Davison for their loving care. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson Benjamin.
