On March 14, 2022 sadly Thomas (Tom) Victor Bombach passed away. Tom was born in Detroit in 1936 to Victor and Verna Bombach. After graduating from Livonia’s Bentley High in 1954, Tom immediately enlisted in the Army where he served two years in Ulm Germany as part of the post WW-II Allied occupation. In 1965, Tom married Sharon Dalka who was (in his words) “The love of my life” and together they raised three children, Ann, Paul and Jill.
Tom delighted in the many jobs he had in his life. Two jobs in particular stood out for him. The first was working as a salesman for Lufthansa. The second was cutting the grass at the soccer field near his home in Linden. Though born in Detroit, Tom loved living in country and never stopped missing his property in Swartz Creek after moving. Tom had a fantastic sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and making others laugh. Tom’s sense of humor blessed him with a lifetime of friends that were extremely important to him. Tom had countless other traits that made him special, but above all else Tom loved his family and loved spending time with them.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley (Irwin) Brink. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon, his brother, Richard (Patricia) Bombach, as well as his children Ann (Ian) Patterson, Paul (Pacharintra) Bombach and Jill Miller (Craig); and his many beloved grandchildren.
