Thomas J. Alex, Sr.

ALEX Sr., Thomas J., age 88, of Flint, former owner of Knobhill Market, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Monday, April 20, 2009 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Rd., Flint. Fr. Hanna Tayar celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A rosary will be prayed 7PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church or to Masses. Mr. Alex was born May 29, 1920 in Flint the son of the late John and Mary (Aboujamra) Alex and lived in Flint his entire life. He Married Blanche M. Albert in 1951 in Oklahoma. Mr. Alex was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was the owner of Knobhill Market from 1924 until present. Surviving are his wife, Blanche; 2 children, Cindy and husband Rod Wilson of Flint, Thomas and wife Jann of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Jessica and husband Mike Mercatante, Jeffrey, Joshua and Nikki; sister, Ruth Avetta of Flint; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
